Fun Fact
I love the community of Lindsborg. My father owned the Ol Stuga tavern for 44 years, so I was able to get to know so many people in our amazing town. I love to crochet, go to concerts and spend time with my family. I also officiate weddings and have been able to preside over 25 weddings!
Past Experience
I have lived in Lindsborg for 45 of my 49 years. I left only to go to college at KU and then returned to Lindsborg. I have served on numerous community organizations, groups and boards. Even back in high school I was active in my church and the local Swedish folkdance group. As an adult I have served on the hospital board, various committees at Bethany Lutheran Church, including being the youth group director currently, the Hyllningsfest committee, Habitat for Humanity Lindsborg Steering committee and family selection committee, member of Lindsborg chapter CC PEO and current president, and have participated in the Messiah Chorus. I also started Grant's Grace in honor of my son which provides financial assistance for various needs of students in the Smoky Valley. I also have started the Laundry Love program through Bethany Lutheran Church in Lindsborg.
I am a social worker and train across the state about mental health and suicide prevention as well. On an area and state level, I am a member of the state Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) council for the state of KS, serve on the advisory committee for the KSU Salina Social work program, am the current president of the Smoky Hill Association of Helping Professionals and volunteer teaching crochet at the Saline County Jail once a week.
