Fun Fact
I'm a pilot. I have helped restore and fly a World War 2 B-25 "Mitchell" bomber at air shows and educational events. This aircraft was similar to the ones that my father flew in combat and was shot down in. I also enjoy flying antique gliders. A major reason that I retired to Amelia County is to be close to Merlin Aerodrome, where I often soar with bald eagles.
Past Experience
I am a farmer, veteran, and engineer. I have been a business owner. I have served on a rural county's Finance Committee to help the county recover from the Great Recession. I have also served on national task forces to update air traffic control. I currently serve as Scholarship Director at a non-profit, and I frequently promote aviation to young people at STEM education events. When I was employed by the US Navy as a civilian, I co-founded a middle-school STEM outreach program.
I have a lot of experience fighting government fraud, waste, and abuse. I saved US taxpayers billions of dollars on defense programs including the F-35 fighter and the MQ-4 drone programs.
I am a cancer survivor who has experienced the way the health insurance industry fails small businesses, so I am passionate about healthcare access and reform.
