I saw schools that barely had teachers, and sometimes classed had to be combined due to no teaching staff, lack of adequate teaching equipment and the demotivation among the teaching staff.

The law officers are not our enemies. They are our protectors when needed. Owura will work to strengthen the relationship between law enforcement officers and residents, and to shatter the myth around officers.

Owura is committed to working with parents to have a reasonable say in the curriculum taught in the Worcester Public Schools. The relationship between Parents and teachers will be strengthened. My experience working as a a substitute teacher in the Worcester Public Schools has made me recognize the disparity within the school system.

With the recent increase in population comes congestion within the City. Owura believes that a well-planned city will involve spreading social facilities evenly across the City. I-290 is still a problem and effort will be made to address this with the appropriate State and Federal agencies.

As a father of three teenagers, Owura has a skin in the game and will seek avenues to promote youth initiatives. Owura will support more youth programs within the various schools, more funding for after-school programs, and the promotion of musical intellect within the City.

Worcester, Mass is the all-American city for a reason. Owura believes that Worcester can develop and still maintain its cultural diversity. While we believe that more development is good for the Worcester economy, Owura will support any program that will preserve, protect and enhance the cultural and ancient landmarks.
