Past Experience
As a candidate for Fort Valley City Council, I, Sheniqua Freeman, understand the importance of sound financial management from my experience as a homemaker and homeowner, where I've balanced budgets and made tough financial decisions. My role as a board member and Chairperson at Macon Little Theatre has also taught me the value of responsible financial stewardship in a nonprofit organization. I'm committed to bringing this expertise to the City Council to ensure our city's long-term stability and prosperity, address our current financial challenges, and promote transparency and accountability in our finances. Specifically, I plan to ensure that our city hires and retains qualified financial staff to keep our audits up to date and our financial reporting transparent. I believe that effective money management is the backbone of a thriving community, and I'm dedicated to making it a top priority.
